Church Outside the Box...Literally
(Explanatory note: Sunday service, July 27, was outdoors on Wal-Mart parking lot. The previous Tuesday Wal-Mart employees were fed home-cooked lunch at TCBC. Thirty people were saved at the two events.)

Sometimes I say about something we are attempting to do: “We just need warm bodies!” In other words, we need people who are alive, who have not “assumed room temperature.” Well there was no shortage of warm bodies this past Sunday, that’s for sure!!! It was hot!
I have never been more thankful to be a part of an individual local church as I was thankful to be a part of Tri-City Baptist Church worshipping the Lord in joy and liberty at Wal-Mart on Sunday morning. I say it with zero arrogance: most fellowships would have never attempted such a thing, at such a time, in such a manner. And ALL the glory goes to the Lord. He initiated it! He gave the courage! He gave the resources! He gave the harvest! To Him be the PRAISE!
Now I realize that people read these blogs from all over this vast universe, and that is gratifying, but I just wish you could have been there. When you see it on TV, I hope you will sense the presence of the Lord in a palpable way as we did. To Him be all the glory! That’s not just preacher talk! But let me just talk to Tri-City folks for a moment, and others feel free to eaves drop and know I’m not trying to impress anyone, but simply communicating, pastor to people.
What a day it was! Really what a week it was! And I know that you were thrilled to be aware of the Lord working through you to accomplish His great purpose…not just at the outdoor service itself, but through the night, and throughout the previous week.
Think of it. God worked through His people: fasting and praying, preparing delicious food for Tuesday’s lunch, imprinting Bible Promise Books, working in the nursery, preparing materials, setting up, tearing down, operating TV equipment and audio controls, presenting great music, giving special financial gifts, working the parking lots, welcoming people, and doing dozens of other things including attending! I mean it! What a tremendous attendance!
Your great attendance under that hot sun spoke volumes! What a testimony! It was important for a lost world to see you “being there.” And you were there! And lost people were saved. What a thrill that was when people started coming forward in the invitation and God’s people just spontaneously started applauding. For the week, 30 people were saved and there is applause in Heaven too. We’re following up on each one of course, for this is just the beginning.
It’s a beginning for us too, I believe. There’s a fresh breeze blowing. I say, “Blow, Wind of God.” Revival, among other things is a fresh beginning. Don’t resist the prompting of the Holy Spirit during these days.
This morning (Wednesday) I was told of a couple who had just moved here and were in Wal-Mart Sunday, heard the music, attended the service, and said they would be with us this next Sunday. Yesterday (Tuesday) Wal-Mart invited me to a meeting where they expressed their appreciation to TCBC for the luncheon and for being good neighbors and for the way we handled the service, etc. I said there that we wanted to be a good testimony for the Lord…and you were and let’s be.
Thanks again, for your great support of the outreach of this past week!

Pastor,
It was a great service! We serve a mighty big GOD and his hand was apparent on Sunday. At the Lord's prompting -- let's do it again!

Pastor Snow,
Thanks for following God's prompting in having that service outside next to Wal-Mart and Burger King. We enjoyed seeing the pictures even though the Deaf ministry sent us pictures of the service the very next day.
We rejoice with you all in the 30 people who made professions of faith in Christ Tuesday and Sunday. To God be the GLORY!
We love watching your sermons as they stream online. They are a GRAET encouragement to us here in South America.
Love to all our "family" at TCBC!

We enjoyed the recent streaming message from the outside service, Pastor. Thanks for "hitting the nail on the head" and not being ashamed to proclaim the ONLY way of salvation...JESUS...in such a public setting. You keep us "pumped up" and encouraged as we serve our Lord on the foreign mission field. We love you, Melissa, and all of our TCBC "Family".
