A. LIFE Groups are comfortable and casual home group environments where people enjoy doing life together. They are more than Bible study groups. Here, we become like family, experience Christlike love and encouragement, grow in our walk with God, and live out our faith in our neighborhood.
A. Because LIFE Groups provide the best environment for developing relationships with others and the Lord Jesus. The first New Testament Church met in homes and loved being together, eating, laughing, worshipping, and studying God’s Word together. A vital part of the ministry of Tri-City is creating a place where we connect with each other and become the family and friends God intended.
Q. What is the vision for LIFE Groups?
A. Over the next 5 years, we desire to plant over 100 LIFE Groups in neighborhoods throughout the Catawba region and ignite them with a passion for being the presence of Jesus in their neighborhood. Fifteen people per group totals 1,500 people, and they have the ability to impact thousands more where they live.
Q. Will LIFE Groups replace Sunday School?
A. No. Tri-City will continue offering Bible classes for all ages on Sunday morning. LIFE Groups are a completely different “animal,” providing opportunity for deeper growth with others and the Lord Jesus.
Q. Are LIFE Groups home Bible studies?
A. No. While LIFE Groups have a Bible component, they are more than Bible studies, but places where you connect with one another and encourage each other in your journey towards Christlikeness.
Q. What does a typical LIFE Group do?
A. A typical LIFE Group will involve a casual time of food and fellowship, laughter, conversation, group worship and Bible application, prayer, and reaching our neighbors for Jesus.
Q. How long do LIFE Groups last?
A. Most LIFE Groups meet weekly for approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours. Our experience is that once people realize that LIFE Groups are not a “class” or “program,” their eyes are focused more on building relationships rather than a clock. In fact, LIFE Groups are so great, you’ll wonder where time went.
Q. Do I have to be a member of Tri-City to be part of a LIFE Group?
A. No. All are welcome. And LIFE Groups are the perfect place for inviting your neighbors and friends.
Q. Can I attend if I’m not a Christian?
A. Absolutely. LIFE Groups are a great place to find out more about Jesus and see what Christians are like.
Q. Who should attend LIFE Groups?
A. LIFE Groups are for people of all ages, backgrounds, colors, and creeds. They are for children through senior adults, single to married to married-again.
Q. What is the cost for attending LIFE Group?
A. There is no cost for attending.
Q. What if I don’t know anyone in the LIFE Group?
A. That’s okay!! You will find everyone friendly, and you will quickly make new friends.
Q. What if I’m uncomfortable talking in groups?
A. Not a problem. You choose your level of participation. Talking in a group is not a prerequisite for attending.
Q. What do I do with my kids?
A. Bring them with you!! LIFE Groups are designed for the family. During the Bible time (and as needed), kids will have a separate study with an adult leader. However, we want the entire LIFE Group experience to be kid friendly.
Q. Can I choose a LIFE Group to attend?
A. Certainly. We would prefer that you attend a LIFE Group closest to your home. The reason is because LIFE Groups are designed to reach your neighbors and neighborhood for Christ. We want you to connect with people where you live. And you’ll be surprised who from Tri-City lives nearby.
Q. How will I know which LIFE Group to attend?
A. We will match you with a LIFE Group that is closest to your home. A LIFE Group Leader will gladly contact you with an invitation to their home.
Q. What if I can’t attend weekly?
