Pastoral Care Ministry
The Pastoral Care Ministry of Tri-City Baptist Church exists for two basic purposes, first “to inspire ALL people towards a passionate pursuit of Christ. Secondly, “we desire to be known as a local community of genuine believers following Christ with a heart for the world.”
The Pastoral Care Ministry is an extension of our Senior Pastor in ministering the word of God to it’s members through various venues such as the following ministry descriptions: Altar Counselors, Baptism, Prayer, Bereavement, Men’s, Shut-Ins, Wedding, Pastor & Deacon On Call, Hospital, Scouts, DODDI Cancer ministry.
Our vision is to utilize and engage our members in the particular areas of ministry that they fit based on their spiritual gifts. By equipping men and women for specific functions in touching the lives of others for God’s honor is what really counts. The bottom line is having “an empowering relationship with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
Pastor Byron E. Repass is the Minister of Pastoral Care, he would love to speak with you about any of these ministry areas that you would like to serve in here at the Tri-City Baptist Church. His e-mail address is: brepass(at)tcbc.org or you may call him at (828) 465-6644 ext. 205.
Altar Counselors Ministry
The purpose of the Altar Counselors Ministry is to provide help, instruction, structure and accountability when a person comes forward in a worship service. Insuring that each person receives the attention needed so they can prepare to make their particular decision for Christ public in the next appointed worship service.
Hospital Ministry
The Hospital Ministry Visitation Ministry exists in order that caring Staff members and its’ church members can place visits to Members and Non-Members of TCBC. The aim of these visits is to insure the patient that our church family is concerned and in earnest prayer for their pertinent needs during their hospital stay. Particular Bible verses that help to encourage the sick are, Psalm 121: 1-2 – I Peter 5:7, Isaiah 41:13.
Shut – In Visitation Ministry
There are two types of visitation to the sick or shut in. One is to the saved and the other is to the unsaved. This ministry is directly spoken of in the Bible when Jesus said, “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Matthew 25:40. There is a three-fold purpose for going to the homes of the Shut-Ins. First, to meet their spiritual needs., Secondly, to provide fellowship and encouragement to them as well as sharing the gospel with those who are unsaved. Thirdly, to provide as needed, Meals, sermon tapes etc.
Bereavement Ministry
The purpose of this ministry is in the event of a death to our church family our ladies teams put a meal together for those family members during their time of grief. These ladies who provide this gracious act of kindness make a powerful impact on the lives of not only our members but to other relatives during the time of bereavement.
