Singles Ministry
What does this mean, and what does it mean to the lives of those involved. This is an opportunity to grow as a group of people that sometimes feels like it has been forgotten, and overlooked as a viable part of the church of today. So what does this look like in the big picture of the church we attend? Here are some thoughts:
- Friendship - as a single man/woman this is a much needed part of our lives. This covers those who are single by choice, or not by choice, such as divorce or being widowed. This allows the development of life long friends from every end of the spectrum.
- Forgiveness - this will help those to cope with the thoughts we may have about how we are able to serve God, and the stigma that may come from our situations in life. Some singles struggle with the image that those around us have about serving God after being divorced for example. Allows you to know God forgives us for our slip ups in life, and His rock of love he gives us.
- Faith building - will focus on building the strong faith that we all are striving for. We will strive to have the faith of a child, which will help us move mountains. We will cement or place in the community.
- Freedom - we will not be tied down to the traditional thoughts about worship, or fellowship. This will gives us the ability to express or love of God, and worship Jesus in a more upbeat, contemporary way.
We believe the ages that are being left behind in our churches are from the early 20’s to the early 40’s. Most of the time they are forgotten because we don’t fit into any preconceived age bracket, but I believe this age is thirsting for an opportunity to serve, and we need to look at ways to have them involved in the life of this church.
